Obviously we all love to fish whenever we can and the best time is when they are biting, but if you could pick a season, what would it be? Tell us why... Because you like the patterns or depths fish are in, or maybe that is when you catch the most or biggest fish of the year.... For me it is early summer and summer in general, I like the way the fish tend to locate and 'Stay' on traditional summer structure and cover. Fish in the spring and summer move more frequently, as they are usually just staging on the way to somewhere else. And I hate winter in MN, because that = ice fishing

I picked prespawn because I have had luck that time of the year. It's just one of my comfort times I guess. I also don't like standing in 100 degree weather trying to catch a fish and not dehydrate at the same time!

i went with spawn. last year i had a great year with spawning smallmouth in 25-35ft of water. it is much different than plucking them off beds in 3ft of water. doug

I voted ; Fall ! On lake Champlain or Lake Winnipesaukee in the Fall you most likely will be fishing in 30' of water for Smallmouth or in 12' or less for Largemouth. On Lake Champlain you never really know what (Smallmouth/Largemouth/Yellow Perch/Northern Pike/ Bowfin/Panfish/, and it also has 225 baitfish swimming in it's depths)you are going to catch on each cast!On Lake Winnipesaukee you also will be fishing 30' in the fall for Smallmouth and 12' or less for Largemouth (there are not alot of Largemouth in this lake)and i like the challenge of fishing DEEP!

I go with Summer. I love searching ledges with a jig or big worm on our lakes.
