Have not had a poll recently, so thought this would be something we could all relate to, so chime in. I think I am a bronzeback guy even though I catch mostly Mossbacks

Largemouth. Only because I can count the amount of smallies I have caugth on one hand. Although, the few I have caught have been fun getting back to the boat.

I went with KY Spots - they are a fun fish to catch. Now I am not talking about the northern smaller strain such as those north of Alabama. You catch a 4lb Spot out of Eufaula, Lay, Center Hill and you have a fight on your hands. I like them because they can be super agressive in 40 foot of water, from the top of the water column to the bottom. Otherwise I will have to go with a SMALL JAW.

I have a few 5's and under but none of the 8lb toads in the Coosa. I caught a 5.1 out of Lay Lake in AL, I have several 3-4's out of Eufuala in AL and a few 3's from Lake Lanier in GA. I would love to tangle with one of those 7-8lb'ers in the Coosa. Pound for pound a Spot will rank right up there with a Smallie fight, just not as much tail dance display. Center Hill in TN can hold some good 3-4 pound spots. I think just a little over 5 is our state record out of Center Hill.

So do you think the Coosa River Spots are tougher then the Kentucky Spots pound for pound?

No, I think pound for pound the KY Spot has it. If a KY Spot ever got as big as a Coosa, it would rank right up there if not higher then a Smallie for hard nosed fight and pounding hits. Like a smallie they would yank the rod out of your hand if they got to the 8lb class. Why is it that MN does not have spots? Or do they and you just don't hear about them?

I have never seen them or saw them up here.... Not sure if it is a climate thing or if they have just never been introduced, I am guessing the latter, I would bet they would do well up here
